It's a Beta

Please feel free to try a Head-Gut Check Session. We would also appreciate constructive feedback during this beta testing phase. Thanks!
Preparation & Viewing

When engaging in a Head-Gut Check process, it is important that you prepare your environment before beginning. Make sure that you are somewhere comfortable, and will not be disturbed during the process.

You will need to ensure that your speakers or headphones are on. Make sure that you have a clear view of your computer screen, as centered as possible within your field of view.

You should download and print the response form, and fill in your working topic(s) and anchor topic(s) before you access the Projective Differential presentation of the image pairs.

When you have prepared your environment and your response form, you will access the Projective Differential presentation. At the beginning of the presentation there will be some audio instructions to help you get relaxed, and to focus on your topic(s).

You will go through a round of 10 pairs of images for each of your topics. For each round, you will maintain your focus on the topic for the round. Before each pair of images is flashed on the screen, you will hear a clicking sound to let you know a pair is about to be displayed. When you hear that sound, make sure your gaze is on the screen, and your focus is on your topic (you may want to repeat the topic silently to yourself when you hear the click). When you see the images flashed on the screen, with your topic in mind, you will choose which image is somehow more like the topic, and mark it on the response form before the next image pair is displayed.

The experience of making these choices varies. Some people report that it feels completely random. Others have indicated that it was often very clear which image was somehow more like the topic. Don't worry about whether it's a clear choice or not. Don't worry if it feels random. Don't worry if you don't know why you're making the choices you are. As long as you are focused on your topic as you make the choices, you can trust that there's a part of you, deeper than your conscious awareness, that is directing the process.

Once you have done a round of images for each of your working and anchor topics, you will mark your 0-10 ratings for each topic on the response form, and then proceed to the presentation of the individual images. You will have control over how long each image is displayed as you look at them and write down names or descriptions.
