It's a Beta

Please feel free to try a Head-Gut Check Session. We would also appreciate constructive feedback during this beta testing phase. Thanks!
Head-Gut Check Session

Follow the instructions below to do a Head-Gut Check session on an issue you're dealing with.

Although registration on this site is not currently required to access the Head-Gut Check session materials, it is required in order to access the scoring and reporting system. If you have not done so already, now might be a good time to create your account and login.

You can download a pdf of the response form here.

Once you have printed the response form, fill in the topics you will be using for this session. If you have more than four working topics, you can use a second copy of the form, but keep in mind, the scoring template is setup for up to five topics, with one of those being the anchor topic "prefer".

If you have not previously used the Head-Gut Check, or participated in a Projective Differential - JOG Your Right Brain session, please be sure to review the Instructions area of this site before proceeding.

The Warm-Up session is a useful way to get started to ensure that you are familiar with the process before working with real topics.

If you have used this Head-Gut Check a few times before, and you are able to easily get into the right frame of mind, then you may choose to skip this step. Even if you have experienced the Head-Gut Check before, the warm-up session may be useful for setting the tone.

Launch the Warm-Up session by clicking here.

Please note: the session is in Quicktime format and about 4MB in size. Please give it a moment to load before clicking on the first slide.

If you are feeling comfortable with the process, and ready to proceed to using the Head-gut Check with your working topics, you can access the Head-Gut Check session here.

Please note: the session is in Quicktime format and almost 3MB in size. Please give it a moment to load before clicking on the first slide.

After you've finished the Head-Gut Check, go back to each of your topics and provide a rating on a scale from 0-10 for how you feel about the topic right now, with 0 being as negative as you can imagine and 10 being as positive as you can imagine being.

Put your numerical rating in the little circle at the top of the appropriate column for each topic - see an example here

Now for the qualitative part of the session...

Access the Images here.

Clicking on the right or left side of an image will move you back and forth through the five images.

Take a moment to really look at each image, and come up with a name or short description for the image. How would you describe it? Or what would you think it would be named if you found it on an art gallery wall?

Put your name or description on the appropriate line in the Part Three section of the response form.

We don't yet have a fully automated scoring process. We do have a semi-automatic scoring system available on this site.

If you have not done so already, please login to access the Head-Gut Check scoring system. If you do not yet have an account, you may create a new account now.*

Once logged in, you can use the "Submit Responses" item in the User Menu, or Click here to access the Head-Gut Check scoring system. You will be asked to copy and submit your responses that you've recorded on the response form, upon which you will receive a personalized report. The report will include feedback based upon your responses and some additional questions to help you work with the material further.

*Why do we require that you create an account and login? In order for our system to record your results and have them available to you any time you return, we need to have your submission associated with an account.
